We have been using XY plots in PI Vision along with a ref curve created using the method outlined in KB 01580. This works fine for when we have a reference curve that wont change over time. However one of our use cases is where we take a reference curve of plant performance based on data taken after an overhaul. This becomes the reference until the next overhaul when it might change due to an upgrade. It would be great if we could have PI vision choose the correct curve to display based on the time being displayed. With the method outlined in KB 01580, this does not seem to be possible so we potentially have to create multiple displays for each time period (duration of curve validity).

I have worked with multiple customers that would like to apply dynamic curves to the XY plot. An example use case is for plotting performance against curves where the there may be electric motor or diesel engine in operation. Being able to automatically identify which is the source drive and apply the correct curve would be useful.

I've heard this request a few times in my sales pursuit a.o. Defense Pipeline Organisation and Vitens drinking water company. Both related to pump monitoring.
