View Annotations via PI Vision

PI archive data value annotations being available beyond PSMT and DataLink - from System Explorer/Analytics>PI Vision>Integrator - would open the types of processes our industry could use PI for and reduce the amount of separate management system we have.

For example, being able to store water quality lab value qualifiers as text in annotations, and then use that text to display on PI Vision or create logic in Analysis for compliance reporting.

Another example is a list of potential codes (qualifiers) our regulator mandates we associate with manually collected water level field data - it makes or breaks our ability to use PI for some processes and regulatory reporting.

Long winded, but annotations in AF>PI Vision>Integrator would open a lot of opportunities for regulatory driven environmental data management and routine regulatory compliance reporting.

Adding the documented functionality would be an important enhancement for the use of event frame annotations.

"In the Is Annotated column " " is displayed beside the event frame. Move the mouse pointer over the icon to see the annotation text. If a file is attached, the name of the file is also displayed."

This functionality allows the user to see that the event frame is annotated as well as what the comments are without "drilling" into the event frame details.

has there been any update on this our users are asking for it as we are beginning to migrate our PI process books to PI Vision

Without this, there is no reason to add comments to ML tours because we can't see it in PI Vision but we really need it. Please take note and add it as soon as you can. Thank you!
