Support for localized element and attribute names

As an user, I want to be able to have a localized element and attribute name in addition to the base language, so that my users do not have to learn a different language.

    Thank you very much for sharing your feedback on the PI Server. After further evaluation, we have decided to decline this item, as we are not planning on implementing it in the near future due to other high priority items across the PI System. Thank you for your feedback, and know that we are listening and reviewing every item that gets submitted!

    I have also been asked for localisation of PI Vision displays.

    My idea was that if AF assets and attributes had access to the connected user, a basic version of this could be implemented within AF using two tables. A user preferences table mapping users to preferred languages and one mapping strings and attribute names and languages to alternate strings for the mapped attribute name in each language. PI Vision can then use table lookup child attributes to get the localised string for the parent attribute.

    Several customers and potential customers would really need this function. They are multinational corporations, so in Russia people would need Russian AF model, but it should switch to English/French/Spanish/Chinese etc. model smoothly for users in other countries.

    I would add we need support for localized UOM names as well. Most users will be familiar with metric units, but units such as "count", "week", etc would benefit from being displayed in a localized form. (For example, to count things in Japanese 番 would typically be used, 週 instead of week, etc.).
