Product PI Integrators

Modifying an integrator view should lead to its target conserving already existing historical data

Currently, if an integrator view is already created on a target (for example SQL) and then a user needs to modify the view to add one or more columns to the target table - A fresh table will be created for the modified view containing the newly added columns, however with no historical values for any of the previously existing columns.

This then means the user would need to Update Data on the view from scratch again to have all the data required on the target.

This can be very repetitive work and can require a lot of computational resources (from both the integrator and its corresponding data archive) to get all data back on the target SQL, especially if data would need to be there for a large time interval.

It would be good to have the integrator recognize that this is simply the same table on the target with an additional column(s) which was recently added.

Then the integrator would keep the data of already existing columns and only need to bring in the historical values for the newly added columns.
