Announcements on the PI Vision start page

As a PI administrator I want to be able to make announcements to the users on the PI Vision start page from time to time. Examples of announcements is planned upgrade dates and times, information about new features, problems with data capture from interfaces, etc. A suitable place for these announcements could be the lower left corner of the start page.

    I imagine the PI Vision start page to become like a basic Sharepoint web part page, where an admin can add a new section with rich text or even embed a display in a section on the start page.

    New section could have an expand and collapse feature so that they still have screen real estate to browse a selection of displays.

    Hello everyone,

    We have created a custom symbol that enables you to embed any webpage in PI Vision. We have customers who use this to embed a Sharepoint page into PI Vision to create announcements. If you want to learn more about this just send me a message: julian.weber(at)werusys.de

    Excellent suggestion. Very efficient way to inform users of PI Vision of upcoming downtime and issues.

    This is a splendid idea and a very efficient way to alert customers of upcoming maintenance events and ongoing problems.

    Interesting thought. Could you use a String tag and display it using a Value object? Obvious downside would be, i don't think you can word wrap a value item
