Manually Enter Data for Attribute/Tag

I share a similar concept.

My proposal is to enable manual entry of attributes into the Event Frame.

While the PI Vision Event Frame functionality already supports manual fields like Reason Code and Notes, allowing users to input standalone attributes would significantly broaden its applicability.

I recognize why there is reluctance to change PI tag values from PI Vision - even given security. Could a reasonable compromise be found in setting PI attributes which do not have a data reference (static values)?

We are getting multiple use case from various industry clients to get the Manual entry feature in PI Vision. PI Vision is basically a monitoring window. However there are business requirement to push business set points, some customize requirement for writing data into PI. If we can have this custom symbol as default available symbol with restricted use case / data security, it will add great value to PI vision solution.

If you have someone cluey with VBA code and excel. You can set up macros to send manual information to tags through excel and macros

An alternate option would be to have some PI-Manual logger integration into CoreSight. Embedding a tour run or something like that would allow for a lot of functionality and only some integration effort.

This functionality is planned to be added natively in a future release. Should be capable in PI Vision 2018 later this year. This is also supposed to integrate PIML in PI Vision.

custom symbols is under full support. so it's hard to use in a regulated environment (e.g. pharmaceutical industries). it would also be great to get the possibility to configure electronic signature (FDA Part11) for the symbol (configure, so it's possible to activate if needed).

i saw more post with different wording for the same topic. OSISoft should think about managing feedback (e.g. merge similar topics). all in all i think Manual Data Entry already has more than 100 votes!

Support of Manual Data Entry attribute Property in PI Vision. According to my research, it’s not currently possible to edit attribute values using PI Vision. We would like to have the option of manual data entry in PI Vision in order to edit some attributes values.
