Allow for migrated PI Processbook displays to be edited in PI Vision

When trends are migrated from Processbook to PI Vision, they can't be edited and only allow for click and drag and zoom functions. There is currently no editing ability. Essentially you have absolute minimal functionality which means the user loses the power of utilsiing the capability of PI Vision. This comes at a cost to the consumer/end user to put more time and rework into creating new displays for the same information.

Request: to allow the migrated displays from processbook to be editable (edit trends/values etc.) I think this would go a long way for the transition of users.

Hi Mitchell, have you resolved this issue? As a user, I am facing it as well and cannot determine the cause. If you have figured it out, could you please inform me of the root cause and how to resolve it?"

Hi Mitchell - it does sound like a configuration issue if the displays have been migrated to PI Vision. Documentation for PI ProcessBook to PI Vision Migration Utility can be found here: https://docs.osisoft.com/bundle/pi-processbook-to-pi-vision-migration-utility/page/pi-processbook-to-pi-vision-migration-utility.html. My suggestion would be to open a support ticket through the Customer Portal to investigate: https://my.osisoft.com/

    Amit - I think you've missed the message/request.
The issue isn't migrating the processbook displays to PI Vision - this has been completed.
The issue is the migrated displays have no edit button or ribbon enabled on the displays, the displays are public display so this ribbon should be enabled.

My question is then - is this a permissions issue and could you guide me to a step by step process to enable these permissions?

Hi Mitchell - PI ProcessBook to PI Vision Migration Utility was introduced in 2019, a tool which allows you to analyze your PI ProcessBook displays and migrate them to native, editable PI Vision displays. You can find more information and can download the utility from the Customer Portal: https://customers.osisoft.com/

Let me know if you have further questions. I will mark this request as Completed.
