For any tag in PI Vision, provide a context menu to see the instrument tag

Currently, PI Vision users (specifically PLC/Automation Engineers) lack visibility into the underlying data source (e.g., PLC address, Modbus register, or OPC path) without access to PI System Management Tools (SMT) or PI Builder. This creates a dependency on IT for simple debugging and forces the use of manual, outdated "Tag Lists" in Excel.

Proposed Solution

Implement a "Tag Information" or "Details" option within the right-click context menu for tag symbol in PI Vision.

Key Data Points to Display

  • Instrument Tag: The direct PLC address/path.

  • Point Source: To identify which interface is collecting the data.

  • Reduced MTTR (Mean Time to Recovery): Engineers can instantly verify if a PI Vision value matches the PLC register without calling an admin.

  • Enhanced Security: Maintains the "Read-Only" environment of PI Vision without needing to grant high-level SMT permissions to floor staff.
