Edit multiple objects at once

It would be nice to edit the colors, sizes, and how they are displayed in bulk all at one time. What I used to created in 1 minute in Coresight 2015 takes 10-15 minutes now.

This item is in development for the upcoming PI Vision 2024 release. The planned functionality will allow display builders to select multiple symbols and bulk modify overlapping configuration.

This is really needed, i miss using the format paint brush tool in PI ProcessBook, it made changing trends and fonts in bulk a lot easier.

We need something similar or better if possible.

One consideration for this request is that, when displays are migrated from PI ProcessBook, there may be symbols that are redrawn as composites (think of a valve drawn as triangles and lines that are grouped). You cannot set a multi-state on the group, so the symbol has be ungrouped and multistate settings applied to the individual pieces, which is not convenient (especially when you have 50 valves on a display).

Sometimes displays need to be resized to better display on different sized screens. Sometimes parts of a display are more important, so we want to enlarge those values while leaving others as is. It's very annoying that you can't drag to select multiple symbols and edit the format. Formatting each value individually is very tedious.

I love BradWilke's idea of a template solution but agreed, this would save alot of time. Especially when you are setting the same multi-states for multiple objects.

Seems like this would just be a band-aid solution for not having a templating type solution like most HMI's have. Create a widget and deploy to multiple displays, then have the ability to deploy changes to that widget to all instances in multiple displays as required.

Our Use case is basically: We have an existing Display with similar objects like a dashboard with a lot of radial gauges that needs to be edited for whatsoever reason (show unit of measurement in all gauges, where it hasn't been shown in the past). By now we need to access the display option of every radial gauge manually and include the UoM. We would like to do this on bulk. Same for every other option like line strength, colour and others. And not only in between the same symbol but over different symbols sharing the same options as well: text strength should be changable if I selected a radial gauge, a value symbol and a lable together.

Any updates on this? we're migrating a massive amount of pages and this would help a lot!

Absolutely cannot leave things like this. There is no way to size like multiple items except by 'eyeball'. A lasso feature would be welcome as well.

Hear, hear. When working with a display with multiple symbols, it would be convenient to be able to change the format of all the symbols in one go. Many of the different symbols share the same format options, so no matter which symbols are selected, the format options in common should be configurable in one go.

Customers are unable to select multiple text boxes at once and change/standardize their font color all together. They have to do it individually. There is an option to simultaneously change the font size but it would help if this could happen for font color too.

Since Processbook is being killed off, this is indeed a must to have for PIVision, otherwise it will take forever to change or create Process drawings for PIVision....

It is tedious to change formatting one object at a time (and also error prone)

It would be super helpful to be able to add a multi-state to multiple objects at once. It is very time consuming adding the same multi-state to fifteen different objects.
