Print a display as a report

Be able to print a display to be used as a 'report'. Include printing / saving as a .pdf. Consider an option to print the colors so it looks good on white paper.

I just changed from PI Processbooks to PI Vision. In Process Books it was super easy to ctrl-c a trend and then go to word/outlook/etc and ctrl-v special as an image to forward or save for a report. That is missing in PI Vision and have to do a cut and snip that is always off.

Collections also scale horribly when you print somethings. If you have a collection and you print, it only shows what’s on the screen, it won’t print all the data in the collection. I'm surprised more folks are not complaining about this.

I agree this is something that is gaining more traction. Some useful features include:

    1. Generate a PDF Snap of a display

    2. Allow for any or all trends to generate a power point or email friendly clip that could easily be pasted in an email or put into a presentation.

As a user of PI Vision for multiple years... I still don't understand why this has not yet been done.

As our Operators are migrating from ProcessBook to PI Vision there are increasing concerns that displays they would regularly print out as reports are no longer printable from PI Vision in an acceptable format. As the third most popular feedback item for PI Vision it would be good to see a live status for this item.

Hello, we would definitely need such a printing function for PI coresight. We have some reports that we want to build in PI coresight so that they are interactive. At the moment, there is absolutely no possibility to print a sheet in an acceptable way... Best regards, Krechl Stefanie, Lenzing AG

Hello, as wpurrer already commented we also need a print function for PI Corsight using IE11. IE11 is per default our browser to visualize ad hoc trends, reports a.s.o. It is not acceptable that there is no basic functionality to print. Snipping tool or comparables could not be the solution. Regards, Uwe Hautmann, Schott AG

Printing a web page from the web browser you're using seems pretty basic, why wouldn't the average Coresight user want it.

An example of when printing is necessary is when we are qualifying a piece of equipment. QA needs a trend showing that what we said happened actually happened (temp/press maintained, etc). This can not be done via Excel, as that data can be manipulated when imported. We need a qualified way to print trends. Another example would be when creating reports and trends on batch data need to be included. Yes, 'print screen' will work. But it looks hinky. And if it's an official report for filing, it needs to look good and come from a qualified system.

Na nova versão (PI Vision 2017) será possível mudar a cor do fundo. Algumas melhoras de impressão estão programadas para o final do ano. https://techsupport.osisoft.com/Products/Product-Roadmap/PI-Vision

The ability to pre-define some key print fields for a particular screen would make this feature more suitable to reporting solutions. Predefined print margins, page orientation, background color, header/footer, pagination. Headers/footers I think ideally should have the ability to embed some parameters like page x page x of y Print date time For screens that have an EF time range applied EF name EF start time EF end time

A standard printing/pdf functionality is a "must have" for regulated industries. Printing via browser is no option and is not acceptable from our point of view.

This will be a great idea and a must to implement in the next release. Potentially this feature will save time in creating manual reports.

The requirement to be able to print or save the report has been stated for a long time. As stated below: it is a must for any regulated industry.

A ausência da opção de impressão faz muita falta. Falta a opção para salvar dados em arquivo csv ou txt. O fundo preto é muito ruim.

An Example would be while making reports and patterns on clump information should be incorporated. Indeed, 'print screen' will work. Be that as it may, it looks hinky. What's more, if it's an official report for documenting, it needs to look great and originate from a certified framework. https://www.canonprintersupport247.com/canon-printer-setup/

This is definitely an important feature for every Pharmaceutical company. I believe it is important to have also the option of embedding the following information in the printouts created (read-only fields which cannot be modified by the end user), possibly in the header or the footer: 1. "Current User ID or Full Name" of the person who is printing the report. 2. Current date & time (when the report is being printed) 3. Page X of N pages
