Trend: Regression line

Support for a linear regression lines on trends, similar to what was available in PI ProcessBook.

      You could consider the following options when user adds a trendlines based on five models:

      • Linear

      • Logarithmic

      • Exponential

      • Polynomial (with user-defined Degrees)

      • Power

      Also consider:

      • Allow a trend line per colour (attribute)

      • Show/hide confidence bands (90%, 95% 99% confidence intervals for each model)

      • Force y intercept through zero

      • Option to include other attributes as factors within the model

      • Show a recalculated line for highlighted/selected data points

      • Show tool tip with the Exact Formula with parameters used, the ‘R-squared’, the ‘P-value’, and options for Edit, Format and Remove.

      Sharing my experience as PI Engineer, our users from engineering team used the regression line to do forecast based on the regression line and when the parameter/attributes will reach certain limit. So, it will be useful if there is also a feature that can include limit and determine the time to reach the limit. For example, determine the lube oil level and when to top-up.

      ProcessBook's linear regression able to change based on the time-range selected (on-the-fly) and can also predict for future (which is useful for us to predict fouling), this is not achievable through PI Vision.

      Any updates on this? Shouldnt be really complex change as it is already available for xy trend
