Ability to send a notification without being triggered by an event frame

As a notification user I want to receive a report on daily or weekly basis but I don’t want to store any associated data about it like the event frame information or the notification history since I use event frames for other purposes and I don’t want to clutter my PI system

Yes. And as stated, an auto-purge would be just fine, since we realize you use the event frame to trigger - but when the event frame is for the sole purpose of the notification, we have no need to keep them, and all they do is bloat the database.

+1 the use case I would mention is that I want to send a notification to remind a user to update manual data. There is no need to store an Event Frame for this, just the email reminder is needed. Maybe a flexible solution would be to have Event Frames that can expire or auto-deleted once they end and/or acknowledged?

Similarly : We send hundred of data to SAP every day to schedule maintenance based on utilisation. There is no need to keep the Event Frames when the data is sent. Auto-delete can be another solution.
