Bring back PIAttributeMaskToTag

Please, bring back the PIAttributeMaskToTag function. It disappeared after PI Datalink 2019SP1 Patch 1. Emulating it with a VBA function calling on an AF SDK COM wrapper is a lot of work and, most importantly, much slower that a native DataLink implementation.

    Is there any update on this? Removing this function from Excel has made things much harder to automate tag search tasks

    This omission is a show stopper for us in moving forward to this latest release. We shouldn't be taking features away like that or creating workarounds with more scripts etc to maintain. Hopefully it can be achieved without going back to enabling ActiveX.

    Hi VIctor,

    Thank you for your prompt response. My case requires not using GUI actions i.e. using an Excel function. It is true that the Search button results in pretty much the same outcome, however, it is GUI-driven.

    Hi Dorin, thank you for the idea. Could you share more details about your use case? The Search has pretty much the same functionalities as PIAttributeMaskToTag and returns a list of tags that match the search criteria. Would that be sufficient?
