XY Plot

Support an XY plot that is able to visualize data in another dimension other than time.  User story:  As a process engineer, I want to trend one attribute against another (like depth) SO THAT they can visualize the data in context of the other attribute rather than by time. Need in Coresight XY plotting abilities : mainly like in processbook + overlays of design/signature curves from AF tables.     The PI Vision development team has completed work on the XY Plot in PI Vision 2017 R2. The XY Plot is now out of CTP and has improved performance, an updated configuration experience, and new formatting options. Upgrade to PI Vision 2017 R2 to take advantage of this and other key new features.     This has wider applications to things like operating envelopes. The need is to able to plot tables where the dependency is not time based but asset based. Change the asset and the performance curve or operating envelope changes

    This feature was posted on "November 09, 2015" to be implemented and it is not ready yet ?

    Just a heads up that posting an idea (like this one in November) does not mean it's being implemented yet. There are over 200 active ideas on this site of things we could do and customer feedback via voting is one input into the prioritization process. When we being working on an item, we will change the status to something like 'Under Review' or 'Started' and as a subscriber you will get an email notification. This is the best way to know what we are working on. For this XY Plot, we are doing some light research on this particular item via our own extensibility layer and will likely schedule it for an upcoming release in 2017, but nothing definitive has been decided at this time which is why we haven't changed the status yet.     Very happy to see. Long overdue I believe, XY is something I had to do with 3rd party tools. Should be native to Coresight and PSE and super-easy to invoke.

    I would like to see the XY plotting added to the event comparison tool. Event comparisons are already being under-utilized due to the separation from the main coresight displays. The ability to align events will become more important as companies build more contextual information in their AF, and the comparison tool should support the same features as the main displays

    we need to be able to specify the X and Y ranges and have them stay as they are in order to overlay the process data with a JPG of design data.
