Markers on a trend for a PI Point with Step=1 show two values at the first event's timestamp when it should only show the new value

Currently, when using markers on a trend symbol in PI Vision and the PI Point has Step=1, the timestamp of the first event in the display time range will show two values stacked vertically. These two values are the old and new value at the first event's timestamp. When I select the Scatter Plot option to remove the connecting line between markers, it is impossible to tell which marker shows the old or new value. It is not useful to display two values at the same timestamp on the trend, when I can't see which is newer. As a PI Vision display creator, I would like to move or remove the old value from this timestamp, so that I can tell the difference between them. Also, I should be able to see the old value using a cursor, without displaying the old value at the wrong timestamp.

This is very confusing for operations. We normally show lab data with just the markers and no line. So the first result on startup have two values and there is no way for operations to tell which is the new value.

We use marker-only trends to trend manual entry data. The current functionality implies two manual reads when there was only one.

additionally, while I somewhat understand the rationale of this psuedo-data point on a trend with a line AND data markers . . . i think it is MUCH worse that the point STILL shows with a trend that is data markers ONLY
