AVEVA PI Vision Trend should have the option to return archived values rather than the interpolated values based on the number of intervals in the trend depending on pixel width

PI Vision Calculation data in Trends are not accurately showing outlier values depending on trend sizing.

The discrepancies are caused when the width/pixel size of the display varies between trend symbols, which affects the intervals used for evaluation (Refer to KCS: https://customers.osisoft.com/s/knowledgearticle?knowledgeArticleUrl=000031475). Even slightly discrepancies on width/pixel size of the display might have a significant impact on summary of PI Vision calculations.

For example, if the default Trend size is used by dragging the total column with manually re-sizing to an arbitrary size, trend symbols created this way will result in deviations between each Trend symbol for Columns such as Total or Average, or just the Value alone.

Having the option to use archived values or specify the intervals used by the Trend symbol manually instead of the aforementioned default would provide users with more consistency and control over the data displayed.

I'm not sure if your people are asking for this "enhancement" for the same reason we are asking for it, but in our case a user was able to put a cursor on a 7 day display and the cursor showed an incorrect data value for the timestamp shown on the cursor. In my opinion, an application that allows the user to see incorrect data values should be considered a bug that should be fixed as soon as possible. Case number: 01112194. Thanks as always for the support, Andres.

The important issue here is that Calculation data in Trends is not handled in the way PI Point data (tags) is handled - very significant numbers of outlying values (i.e. maximums and minimums) from Calculations are often not displayed on Trends - there are no simple workarounds and it is difficult to explain this (unexpected) default behaviour to users - in my experience the default is not what users expect, or want, plotted.
